Chiliz is a pioneering blockchain company based in Malta, renowned for its specialized focus on the sports industry. Established with the intent to bridge the gap between sports and blockchain technology, Chiliz is at the forefront of creating new avenues for fan engagement through its innovative use of blockchain. The company's flagship offering, Fan Tokens™, has revolutionized how sports enthusiasts interact with their favorite teams and athletes, transforming fan experiences by providing a direct voice in team decisions and access to exclusive content.
Chiliz's are official digital assets that allow fans to engage more deeply with their favorite sports teams. Launched in 2019, these tokens have become the largest digital asset class within the sports sector, harnessing blockchain's potential to democratize fan participation. Teams like Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, FC Barcelona, and Juventus are among the global sports brands that leverage Fan Tokens™ to connect with their audiences. This network is a part of the platform, which hosts a wide array of Web3 sports experiences, driving the sports industry into the digital age.
The backbone of Chiliz's operations is the Chiliz Chain, a blockchain designed specifically for brands, teams, and innovative developers looking to explore Web3 opportunities in sports. Utilizing a Proof of Staked Authority (PoSA) consensus mechanism, the chain is supported by an elite network of validators, including industry giants like OKX and Animoca Brands. This robust infrastructure not only supports the deployment and management of Fan Tokens™ but also provides a fertile ground for developers to build decentralized applications (dApps) tailored for the sports sector.
Chiliz has cultivated a vibrant community of over 2 million Fan Token™ wallet holders, creating an engaged audience eager to interact with new sports-related projects. This extensive community offers developers a unique opportunity to scale their projects and reach a global audience of sports enthusiasts. Through initiatives like the Chiliz Vision 2030 Roadmap for SportFi, the company aims to continue its leadership in sports digital assets, setting the stage for further innovations and integrations in the realm of Web3 sports.
